Why did I choose to start my career at Zylo? The answer is simple, but I’ll dive into more detail soon.
I can point to Zylo creating its own category and being a SaaS pioneer as enough reason for me to join this startup. As I dug deeper into the product, the vision and the people behind it, one thing became certain: Zylo is a rocket ship and I absolutely needed to strap in for the ride.
One of my favorite Simon Sinek quotes is:
“People don’t buy what you do, they buy why you do it.”
Zylo’s product is a perfect example. After headcount, most companies allocate more than 50% of their annual budget towards SaaS-related expenses. With worldwide annual SaaS spending projected to reach more $200 billion in 2019 and doubling again by 2022, it’s clear there is a need in the market for the innovative SaaS management software Zylo has created.
The opportunity for Zylo in the SaaS-for-SaaS industry is almost too immense to comprehend. The fact that Zylo established itself early as the category leader for companies looking to unlock insights around SaaS spend, utilization and feedback was a huge draw for me.
A lot of companies preach about how awesome their culture is, but at Zylo it really is that awesome.
During my interview process, I felt an instant connection with those I had conversations with across different teams. When I visited the Indianapolis HQ, I sensed contagious, positive energy and a clear sense of togetherness. I walked away from my interviews knowing this was where I was meant to be.
I can now say that as a part of Zylo, everything I sensed during my interview was true. Throughout my first weeks, everyone has been so welcoming and excited for me to join the Zylo family, starting with the co-founders and the leadership team.
In my first week, I received a personal note and had a conversation with Eric, our co-founder and CEO! (How many other companies does this happen in?) The vision that Eric and our leadership team have for this company and the amount of success they’ve been able to achieve in such a short time is incredible. They’ve done an amazing job hiring some of the best talent and people in tech. I wanted nothing more than to join this group of rockstars!
One of the qualities I loved most about Zylo was that my work will be critical to the company’s success. And that’s true for every employee here.
Being able to come to a workplace every day and know that you’re making a real impact makes your work that much more meaningful and engaging. With it being such a fast-paced environment and having challenges thrown at you every day, you get the opportunity to collaborate with different departments and wear a multitude of hats. No two days are the same – and that’s part of the fun.
My goal was to be a part of an innovative startup making a real impact in its category, rather than the corporate world for all of the reasons above. Zylo meets that criteria and more: they have the great product, a group of rock stars and a vision brighter than the sun.
